Unhappy Kitty

This is what an unhappy kitty looks like.

Sheba had to go to the V-E-T today for her yearly geriatric appointment. The vet asked for a urine sample so now Sheba is stuck in the bathroom with her least favorite litter (plastic pellets called No-Sorb) and a full bladder.

Let the waiting begin. Sigh. She can be soooo stubborn.

In knitting news, I can’t show you what I’ve been working on.

A complete pair

I finally finished something! Last night I bound off and weaved in the ends to my Instant Gratification socks.

I used my May Project Spectrum yarn swap yarn. The fabric is a little loose but other then that, they fit great. As per usual, my timing is spot on. I finish a pair of wool socks just in time for summer!

Green socks

Two green socks do not a pair make.

I think Sheba is jealous. This is Sheba's "I've been abandoned for knitted socks" look.

Please do not look at the layer of dust on my wheel.

Double Wow!

On Thursday I received my yarn trade from O Que Me Mima. I sent her some hand dyed yarn and chocolate and look what she sent me! The purse is so wonderful! It's hand knit with beads. Beads!

Here’s a close up of the yarn. Did I mention it was hand spun and hand dyed!

I tell you, I am always out done.

Wow!

I received another wonderful swap this week. This swap was so personal I was really touched. Sandra even learned to knit to make me a cute little purse! She’s already more advanced then me as I haven’t even tried to make a button hole yet.

As you can imagine, I took a ton of photos. Here’s everything:

There were so many great items in the swap that I made a mosaic. I can’t say this is the best yet (because I’ve gotten so many wonderful swaps!) but this one is tied for first place! :) With you know, all the other great swaps I've received!

Sandra included a yin-yang key chain that her friend made as a symbol of Greg and I getting married! She was just so amazingly thoughtful.

Color-iffic Sent

I sent this swap off on Friday. It doesn’t look like a lot but it was heavy. I was going to pick a third color until I found the dragonfly fabric.

This is the last organized swap I’m going to participate for awhile. I say organized because I’m doing a knitting magazine swap with Flare. I’m going to send her a couple of Vogue magazines and she’s going to send me a couple of Phildar magazines.

I’m also swapping yarn with Ana Paula. The amazing this is that I sent the yarn on Wednesday last week and she’s already gotten the yarn!

I also got my tea cup swap package on Friday. Unfortunately the tea cup is in need of a few small repairs. Once I glue it back together I will post photos. It's really a cute cup!

Good bye May!

Hello June!

How could she know?

How could Abigail know what my favorite cookies are? Really, I’m not kidding. Carr’s Ginger Lemon Cremes are favorite cookies. It took every ounce of control I have to keep from opening the package before I took the picture. The only place in town I’ve ever seen them are at Trader Joe’s and there isn’t a store anywhere near me. I still can’t believe it!

Look at this fantastic package!

I can’t tell you how delighted I am with this package! And I’m not just talking about the cookies. Look at that great yarn (help take the edge off of the Summer of Stash). And some great sock books and of course, the tea! I really like Awake and am really looking forward to trying the Twinnings.
