Something finished, something started

Last night I finished the Little Guy's Sunset Sweater! And when I say finished, I mean finished. I finished the neck and weaved in the ends and everything! He even wore it this afternoon.

I have to say, the Little Guy looks great! I'm already plotting his next sweater.

I have a lot of the yarn left over. Last night I cast on a matching Kids' Earflap Hat. I think it'll be a quick knit. I'll probably still have some leftover yarn. I'm thinking a pair of mittens.

Seasonal Impulse Buy

I bought yarn. I bought lace yarn. Not only that, I bought orange lace yarn.

Orange isn't exactly my color. I just couldn't resist the name of the color - Pumpkin Latte Spice. I can't resist anything pumpkin this time of year.

The yarn is from Knitting Up A Storm. I really like the colors. Someday this yarn will be a lovely shawl.

One Less

I messed up big time on my first Mystery Sock. I skipped five rows of the cable pattern. I frogged the first sock but have kept the cuff of the second one.

I may frog the cuff as well. I haven't decided yet. Either way this sock is going on the back burner. I've been working on the Little Guy's sweater and will have pictures soon.

Something finished

I finally finished something! The Little Guy's Needle socks.

I put the mystery socks on hold to finish the toddler socks. I am really behind. I haven't finished the leg of one sock. These are the most complicated socks I've ever worked on which makes for slow going. This is a far as I've gotten.

I'm hoping to get through the heel of one sock and then I'll get back to The Little Guy's sweater.

Too many projects

I have five WIPs. Five! That's unheard of for me. There's my dad's socks (which are on the back burner), the Embossed Leaves socks, my Mystery Socks (I'm working on clue #2 tonight) and two new projects.

First I cast on a pair of socks for The Little Guy. It's The Most Basic Kids Socks in Hello Yarn Sock in the Cone and Needle colorway. This will be the first of two pairs in this yarn.

Over the weekend I cast on The Little Guy's third Placket Neck Sweater. I'm using Abundant Yarn and Dyeworks Naturally Dyed superwash wool in Amy's Sunset. The colors do remind me of a sunset. I need to frog a couple of rows because I made the body too long.

Both of these should be relatively quick projects.

Vacation Knitting

We're spending the weekend in Sun River. Vacation means knitting. First there was the knitting during the drive here. Then there's the knitting in the evening after The Little Guy goes to sleep. There's lots more of that then usual since I don't have to worry as much about cleaning up.

With all this knitting time I've managed to get both cuffs finished on my Socktoberfest Mystery Socks. Since the yarn is pinkish-red it's hard to photograph. But my boob stitch marker is pretty clear. Unfortunately I miss read the pattern and did the ribbing wrong. I was too far along when I found out to frog and start again. If I like the pattern enough perhaps I'll do a second pair. I read that there's actually going to be two patterns released.

I've also made progress on my Meadow Leaves socks but I don't have a current photo. I'm almost done with the heel.
