Another Hat

I finally finished the second blue Nottingham hat. I had to frog and start over once. I always have trouble with row five.

This is the child size hat. It's a little big but not too bad. He likes it and that's all that matters.

I cast on G's Koolhaas hat. The Ultra Alpaca is shedding worse then a long hair cat at the beginning of summer. It may not have been the best yarn choice. Once it looks like something I'll post a photo.

I'm also getting to the final stretch of my Embossed Leaves socks. Soon. Very soon.

New Yarn

I got a gift card to Yarn Garden for my birthday. As you can imagine it was burning a hole in my pocket. I finally got to a chance to go to the shop without the Little Guy on Friday. I tried to show some restraint.

First up is Berocco Ultra Alpaca in a lovely maroon with red flecks. This is going to be a Koolhaas Hat for G.

The other yarn I got is Baby Zarina. This is going to be a Gooseberry Hat for the Little Guy.

Something to show for it

I have been knitting. I finished my first Embossed Leaves sock and started the second one. The ear flap hat I knit turned out to be too small. I will eventually weave in the ends and call it finished.

I've also been knitting for The Little Guy. He's going through a hat phase. He will "ask" me to put a hat on his head. Wouldn't you know I'd loose his blue Nottingham hat. I bought yarn to make him the same hat but in the larger size. I just forgot how complicated I found the cable pattern.

Well, The Little Guy needs a hat now! It's cold and he actually likes hats. I cast on 88 stitches yesterday and today he has a hat. Unfortunately I finished it after he went to bed. I used the Schoeller + Stahl Limbo Mexiko Color from my stash.

Now it's back to working on his second Nottingham hat. I also found two more balls of almost full balls of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in my stash. I've been searching Ravelry for more hat patterns. If he wants hats, I'll give him hats.
