New Sweater

The Little Guy and I made it to Abundant Yarn this morning. It was the biggest group of Moms and kids yet. At one point there were seven kids. LG was the youngest and subject to a little more attention then I was comfortable with. He on the other hand loved it.

Thanks to the help of Heather I was able to fix the sleeves on the Placket Neck sweater. Yes, that's right sleeves. Plural. There were matching holes in both sleeves. All I can figure is they got caught in the stroller.

The weather forecast is calling for snow tomorrow. This sweater should come in handy.

I've also decided to abandon Norberta the Second. I'm going to use the left over yarn I have to knit another Placket Neck sweater. First I need to finish Norberta the First (and only for the time being). I still have yarn to make another Norberta. I'll use the left over yarn from that one on the sweater too.

Whirlized Peas

I have no new knitting to show. Instead I have whirled peas. The food processor didn't get the peas smooth enough so I had to pulled out the blender. Peas are the Little Guy's least favorite food yet. I think he may actually like them less then the rice cereal.

I have finished the knitting on Norberta the First and have started on Norberta the Second. I hope to start sewing this weekend.

Friday Little Guy and I are going to Mommy Knitting at Abundant Yarn. I plan on taking the Child's Placket-Neck Pullover with me. The yarn broke on one of the sleeves and I need to find out how to fix it.

Dragon Parts

Just one more wing and Norberta the First will be finished. Well, the knitting will be finished. I'm using Knit Picks Crayon. I couldn't decide if I liked the yellow or the orange better so I ordered both colors. It turns out I didn't have to decide because the pattern calls for two strands knit together.

I should be able to knit up the last wing this weekend. I don't think the time I'll have this weekend for knitting will allow me to sew up Norberta the First. I'm thinking may just start Norberta the Second.

Baby Food

There has been some knitting going on. I just need to get some pictures.

The Little Guy is now six months old. We've been giving him "solids" for almost three weeks now. So far he's had rice cereal, avocado and now sweet potatoes. The avocado was easy. All I did was slice open the fruit and put it in the food processor. The sweet potato wasn't much harder. I just had to cook it first. I admit, the rice cereal was from a box. Once I get through what we have I'll make the cereal too.

Next week will either be peas or carrots.

Future Project

This one is for me. Did you get today's Knitting Daily email? I really want to knit this sweater! I love entrelac and I love the use of it in this sweater. I don't care for the color of the yarn but that I can easily change. The would be my most challenging project yet.

Of course, it's not available until the Spring 2008 Knitscene is released. I wonder how many toys I can knit for the Little Guy in the meantime.

Overdoing it Again

I finished The Little Guy's penguin the night before play group. Everyone loved his costume and his mini-me penguin. He on the other hand isn't that enamored with it yet.

That's okay with me. I really enjoyed making it. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I bought yarn to make more toys for him. There's enough yarn in this bag to make at least two Norbertas and three, maybe four Sheldon the Turtles (both patterns from knitty).

The Little Guy seems excited about the yarn.
