A Family of Stripes
I finished Purple Girl's socks!
I used a little bit of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in peach for the toes.
It turns out it is rather difficult to get a four and six year old to pose for pictures of their feet. This is the best I got of all three of us wearing our socks. The kids have had so much ice cream this week that I didn't really have anything to bribe them with.
I can hardly believe summer is almost over! I'm not ready for Question Boy to be back in school full time. The time has gone by too quickly.

The Finishing and the Starting
Last night I finished Question Boy's Minding the Gap socks. Not only that I got pictures!
The only problem is they socks are a little small. The 3F yarn knit at a tighter gauge then the stripes and I measured for the stripes. I will remember this and from now on use my gauge for the red to calculate how many stitches to cast on.
In the meantime, I've started Purple Girl's socks. I think they should be okay since I'll be using mostly the striped yarn for hers.

I Heart Rainbows
What can I say? I love rainbows! Yesterday I received some lovely rainbow yarn that I bought through a Ravelry destash. Who could possibly part with this beautiful yarn?
I mean, really? Right? It's Lollipop Yarns Sock yarn 25/75 in the Great Googly Moogly colorway. It is so beautiful and thoughtfully wound so to start with red.
I now have two beautiful rainbow sock yarns. One more (Rainbow Love from Vesper) and I'll have my holy rainbow yarn trifecta.
Now I just need to finish Question Boy's and Purple Girl's Mind the Gap socks and I can cast on some rainbows!

Knitting a Smaller Gap
Here is Question Boy's Mind the Gap socks enjoying the view of sailboats boats on Lake Union in Seattle. I finally decided to only knit the cuff with stripes. The rest of the foot is knit with Three Fates Terra Sock in the Cardinal colorway. The red is rather eye searing so I'm thinking about adding another stripe to the foot.
