Making my Own Rainbows

I have been drooling over all the rainbow self-striping sock yarn available right now.  But...  I really shouldn't be buying any yarn right now.  Instead I decided to pick up an old project and try again.  I am making rainbow stripes using Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in the Flames and Daffodil colorways.  I'm switching colors every two rows and I can already tell I should have gone up with three if not four rows before switching colors.  Next time!

Minding the Gap

I know I said I'd never do another after-thought heel but what can I say?  I lied.  

I finished my Minding the Gap socks and I love them!  The striping yarn is the drool inducing Trailing Clouds Mind the Gap.  The yarn is fantastic with a nice tight spin on it.  I wish I could say the same for the black yarn.  It's Simply Sock Yarn's store line and it had a lot of frays in it.  I just hope it stands up to wear.

Both Question Boy and Purple Girl claimed the leftover striped yarn from these socks.  I'm trying to figure out how to get two more pairs out of this yarn.  I was very careful to use as little of the stripes as possible, hence them not matching.
