Another day another soup

This one wasn't as good as the pizza soup. It's Shanghai Turkey Stew from an old Sunset magazine I found tucked away. I think I need to stick to one soup a week. Two is a bit much.



I found the magazine while doing some cleaning/baby proofing. I wonder what else I'll find in the built-in bookshelf.

This and That

I've been making pretty good headway on my cooking New Year's Resolution. I've been able to cook dinner at least four times a week and I try to include at least one new thing each week. This week's new item was Pizza Soup.



I also finished another toy for The Little Guy. This one is a lot less sperm shaped but he doesn't like it as much (of course).



Speaking of toys for The Little Guy I ordered the cutest tools for him. They're from fede and I love them. Right now he likes to throw them but I know he'll like them more in time. I got the hammer and wrench. I wish there were more tools to choose from!



And finally, I've set up a little spot in the kitchen for him. I really, really want to knit him a bunch of fruit and veggies. In the meantime I'm making due with his Baby Einstein blocks that have fruit on them.

Check number two

I can check off number two from my list. I finished The Little Guy's second sperm. Yes, the second one looks like a sperm too. Although it's a smaller sperm with a crooked tail.



It doesn't matter what they look like since he likes them. I'll try to get a photo of him playing with them.

Up next, Greg's hat. I frogged the Koolhaus hat and will be casting on the Karma hat instead. I'll try the Koolhaus another time.

I finally finished something

Last night I finally finished my Mom's second pair of Jaywalker socks. The photos aren't so good but you get the idea.





I looked back at my photos on flickr. I started these socks well over a year ago. Hopefully the next pair won't take so long.

One More

I need to add another item to my WIPs to finish list.

5. Norberta dragon for The Little Guy. All that's left is the sewing up.

Oh balls!

I haven't been doing a lot of knitting lately. What I have been doing is small. I've been knitting balls for The Little Guy. I've been using i like lemon's pattern.



I also accidentally knit TLG a sperm. Yes, that's right a sperm. The idea was to add a tail to one of the knit balls. It wasn't really a surprise since none of my balls have really turned out ball shaped. I will get a photo and post it soon.

I need to get back on track with my knitting. I'm going to focus on finishing my WIPs.

1. Mom's red Jaywalker Socks. I was making such good time on them.

2. Finish TLG's second sperm. Hopefully this one won't look like a sperm.

3. Finish Greg's hat. It's going to be too warm for him to wear it soon.

4. Sew up Rosehip sweater.
