All done

Mission accomplished! This was my best year yet for preserving. I made raspberry, strawberry and peach freezer jam. And I canned nectarines, pears and 12 half-pints of apple butter. Not bad for a sleep deprived, lazy ass mama.

Next year I'm going to do tomato sauce. I swear I am.

I stayed up late (for me) canning 12 pints of Bartlett pears. Today I'm working on apple butter.

I broke first

Orange Play Dough

Last week a friend gave The Boy two tubs of play dough. He loves playing with it but wanted more colors. This morning we made orange play dough using this no cook recipe. He enjoyed dumping in the salt, flour and kool-aid. He kept asking hopefully if the dough needed more flour.

Still no knitting. I'm still not getting much sleep. Little Miss and I may be taking a trip to the beach soon. If we do, I'll get some knitting done then.

it has begun

Little Miss started solids last week. A little early but she was so ready. She's been enjoying a serving of avocado every morning for the last week. We had some left over squash and pumpkin so I turned it into baby food. I'm going to start sweet potatoes tomorrow.

On a side note, I had forgotten how disgusting baby poop is as they start solids. Just another thing you conveniently forget about so you'll have more then one kid.

So much for that

The Boy won't be heading back to preschool next week. When I went to pick him up yesterday I discovered he was left outside by HIMSELF! It was probably only for a few minutes but that's not the point.

I'll be calling the community center this morning and pulling him out of the program. I'm really disappointed because he was enjoying it. But I don't feel I can trust them to keep him safe. I'm going to look into a daycare about a block from us.

In the meantime, I'll be keeping up with the letter of the week. I'll get pictures of B soon.
