Off the needles

And on the board. Blocking board that is. My In Between Shawl is finally finished. I did two extra repeats of the feather and fan. I wanted to do more and use up all the yarn but I ran out of room on the needles. I'll get better photos when it's done blocking.

Not surprisingly, I have already started another project.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A day for knitting o' the green. My In Between Shawl is back in business - again. I frogged back over the weekend and was easily able to fix my dropped stitches. Well, I'm not sure I got all the stitches back on correctly but they're all there. Right now, that's all that matters.

Moving quickly

Does anyone else watch Dinosaur Train? When ever I hear "La La" I think of Don dancing and singing "La La Lou." Anyway, my La La Lou shawl is moving along very quickly. It is currently my main project. I don't have the heart or the energy to rip back on my In Between Shawl. Maybe tomorrow.

Another year long project done

When I cast on these basic socks for my Mom I knew it would take me awhile to finish them. They were an easy project to keep on hand for some mindless knitting. At first they went pretty quickly. Then other projects came up but I kept coming back to these socks.

Then I realized I wasn't going to have enough yarn to actually finish the pair. That's when knitting pretty much stopped. It wasn't that I didn't have the yarn, I did. I had more of the same yarn in a different colorway leftover from my my Mom's monkey socks. I just wasn't sure how to join the new yarn without having to weave in the ends. I finally got the help I needed as was able to finish off the pair.

According to Ravelry, I cast on for these on March 7, 2009. A year and a day. How funny. The sock pattern is Yarn Harlot's Sock Recipe: A good, plain sock. The yarn is Zen Yarn Garden's discontinued Cotton Sock Yarn in Ocean Lime and a little bit of Guava Jelly.

If I had these to do over I'd make the leg shorter and the foot longer.

Cursed?

I’m seriously beginning to wonder if my shawl knitting is cursed. First, Ishbel kicked my butt. Then the Simply Brainless shawl turned out to be not so brainless after all. Then I seriously messed up on my In Between Shawl. Basically I misread the pattern. I thought AFTER the sixth repeat I’d have enough stitches for a new pattern repeat at BOTH the beginning and middle of the shawl. So I stupidly removed all my stitch markers. It took a couple of days to fix that mistake. Now I have this. A dropped stitch. I have no idea how to fix this. There are dropped stitches and dropped yarn overs.

I think I need to work on something else (again) for a couple of days again before I try to tackle this one.
